Overview

Weatherproof Emergency Light

The Extreme Series is a NEMA-4X Rated wet location emergency light that is suitable for all types of harsh environments. This oudoor, waterproof emergency light is suitable for locations that feature humidity, dust, water, sleet, and snow. The Extreme Series comes equipped with 6, 12, or 20 watt Halogen MR16s and even has the option for 4w LED MR16s. The Cold Weather (CW) option enables this emergency light to operate as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit, by far the most durable emergency light for cold temperatures.

There are a variety of battery capacities available which let you control the length of the light's emergency run time. The standard model comes with a 6V 18W Lead Calcium battery that provides more than 90 minutes of emergency illumination. 12V models can come with a 24, 36, and 54W Lead Calcium battery. Nickel Cadmium batteries, which are longer lasting and more compact, are available in 12V 24W and 12V 40W models. Featuring the latest in emergency light battery technology, the Extreme Series is even available with a 12V 60W Nickel Metal Hydride (NIMH) battery that will provide more than 180 minutes of emergency light.

Application

The Extreme Series is designed for harsh environments that can feature moisture, dust, snow, and cold temperatures. It is popular for food processing and preparation facilities, marine locations, chemical plants, parking garages, transit platforms, warehouses, and cold storage facilities.

External

Available in a white, black, or gray housing. This wet location oudoor emergency light features a fully gasket aluminum back plate with a clear, UV resistant polycarbonate shield. Tamper-proof screws and screw bit are included standard.

Internal

Utilizes 120/277v AC electricity to operate and charge the battery. Comes standard with solid state charging circuitry, low voltage disconnect, AC lockout, and brownout protection. Available in custom voltages upon request.

Lamp Specifications

The Extreme Series comes with Halogen MR16 lamps. These compact lamps are efficient and produce powerful illumination. 6V 6W MR16 lamps are standard. 12V MR16 lamps are available in a 12W and 20W model.

The 20W MR16 features a special infrared reflective coating that makes the filament much efficient. This means more lumens are produced per watt compared to conventional MR16 lamps. The 12V 20W MR16 IR produces the same amount of light as a 28W standard MR16.

The LED lamp option is a 4W white LED MR16 that produces about 50 lumens per watt, for more than 200 lumens of light output total. Pairing the 12V 60W NIMH battery with the a set of 4W LED MR16s will produce more than 7.5 hours of emergency illumination.

Battery

A variety of battery choices are available as well on this weatherproof emergency light. Pairing a larger battery with lower wattage lamp heads allows you to extend the amount of emergency run time for the light fixtures. The standard battery is a 6-volt 18-watt Lead Calcium battery. 12-volt Lead Calcium battery wattage are 24, 36, and 54 watts.

Nickel Cadmium emergency light batteries have become increasingly popular over the past few years. Ni-Cad batteries are favored because they are lightweight, compact, efficient, and long lasting - up to 7 years. The Extreme Series can be ordered with a 12-volt 24-watt or 40-watt Nickel Cadmium emergency light battery.

The latest advancement in emergency light battery technology is the implementation of Nickel Metal Hydride (NIMH) batteries. NIMH emergency light batteries are even more efficient and compact than Ni-Cad models. They are extremely efficient, allowing a large capacity to be provided by a small, lightweight battery. We offer a powerful 12-volt 60-watt NIMH emergency light battery as an option for the Extreme Series.
