The Hazardous Location Exit Sign is designed for areas that contain ignitable vapors, gases, dust, or other combustible materials. Hazardous location exit signs are designed for Class 1 Division 1 and Class 1 Division 2 areas. In Class 1 Div 1 areas, the hazardous materials are present in the environment during normal operations. Class 1 Div 2 areas feature hazardous materials, but only during abnormal operations (accidents, malfunctions). Select between a Class 1 Division 1 Exit Sign and a Class 1 Division 2 exit sign when ordering.

The Hazardous Location Exit Sign features a copper-free cast aluminum housing that is fully gasketed to prevent the intrusion of hazardous materials and the other elements such as water. The EXIT face is made from a high grade polycarbonate and available with red or green letters. Efficient LED illumination consumes less than five watts electricity. The Hazardous Location Exit Sign features a 90-minute UL Listed Nickel-Cadmium battery backup system.

The Hazardous Location Exit Sign is composed of an aluminum housing paired with a polycarbonate faceplate. The housing and faceplate are sealed together to prevent gases, vapors, and fluids from entering the inside of The Hazardous Location Exit Sign. The housing is tamper-resistant and features a hermetically sealed magnetic test switch that allows for easy testing of the nickel cadmium battery backup system. The entire housing is vandal resistant and approved for use in high abuse areas such as schools and prisons.

Red or green LED (Light Emitting Diode) light strips provide brilliant and powerful EXIT illumination while consuming less than 5 watts of electricity at all times. Installation

Hazardous location exit signs are suitable for surface (wall and ceiling) installation. This model is suitable for installations on normally inflammable surfaces. Use two of three provided wires to connect the unit to AC power. Use the black(120v) and white(Common) wires for 120v AC connections and the red(277v) and white(Common) wires for 277v AC connections.
