Turns out those NEMA fixtures weren't even NEMA rated, they were some Chinese copy! Since corrosive weather can still damage a halogen bulb even inside a gasket head, it's time to get you some 6V 12W Sealed Beam Halogen Emergency Light Bulbs!

It'll take a little DIY to remove the bi-pin socket, reflector and lens set, then it's ready to accept your new screw terminal-based PAR 36 halogen lamps. Because these factory sealed glass bulbs include the lens, bulb and reflector in one piece you'll never have to worry about corrosion again. Wrap the positive and negative wires around the brass terminal tabs, secure the lamp inside the heads and watch your compliance officer eat his own hat when he sees those powerful 12 watt sealed beam lamps at work.

Application

At about a 7.5 to 8 foot distance from the floor you'll be getting a perfectly acceptable 3.52 foot-candles of light within each lighting cone. Dual heads will double the expanse of illumination falling on the egress path, while the LP-207s minimal 12 watt drain keeps your energy bills low. The refractive lens on the front of these parabolic flood lamps ensures that the lighting cone is uniform and will not blind occupants that accidentally look into the beam.
