The Waterproof Exit Sign is designed for use outdoors and in wet locations, such as wash down areas. Waterproof exit signs feature a fiberglass housing that is hermetically sealed and prevents the entry of moisture or wetness into the body of the unit. Essentially, a waterproof exit sign is an LED exit sign encased in a weatherproof housing. The electronics of a waterproof exit sign are the same as an LED exit sign - less than 5 watts of electricity consumed at all times.
A 90-minute lead acid battery backup system keeps this wet location exit sign illuminated after power is lost. The battery backup can be tested by a simple push button that is located on the side of the unit. An internal heater can be added for operation in cold environments, where freezing temperatures may occur. All waterproof exit signs are UL Listed and approved for use throughout the United States. Operates using 120 or 277v AC electrical power and comes with a five-year warranty.

120/277v AC dual-voltage operation is standard. Other voltages available upon request such as 220v and 240v. AC lockout prevents battery pack discharge. Low voltage battery disconnect protects the battery pack form being damaged by long discharge periods.
Wet Location Rated. UL924 Listed for the U.S. and Canada, CS860, NFPA, Life Safety 101, UL Listed for Damp Locations. Wet locaiton rated means that the exit sign is weatherproof and can handle direct contact with falling water, snow, sleet, and the splashing of non-corrosive liquids.

Waterproof exit signs are suitable for surface (wall) installation. This model is suitable for indoor/outdoor and wet location installations on normally inflammable surfaces. Use two of three provided wires to connect the unit to AC power. Use the black(120v) and white(Common) wires for 120v AC connections and the red(277v) and white(Common) wires for 277v AC connections.
