Steel Direct-View LED Exit Sign - 20-Gauge Steel, 6" Letters, Direct-View LEDs - Features & Specs

The 500E Series Steel Direct-View LED Exit Sign delivers maximum visibility in smoke, fog, or low-contrast environments using dot-matrix, direct-view LEDs. Built with a rugged 20-gauge steel housing and a solid 1/8" vandal-resistant polycarbonate lens, it’s designed for demanding industrial and commercial settings. The unit includes field-selectable chevrons and a universal mounting canopy; optional battery backup and combo heads are available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is direct-view LED better in smoky areas?

The LED points are visible through smoke and haze when diffuser-style legends wash out, improving legibility at a distance.

Is a battery backup version available?

Yes. Standard WB models use NiMH. A sealed lead-calcium battery is available when you order the G1 diagnostics option.

Can this be wall-mounted?

Yes. The unit ships with a universal canopy for ceiling, end, or wall mounting.

Does it include emergency lighting?

The REN3 combo adds two 2.6 W PAR16 LED heads. Note: this combo option is not UL Listed and requires sealed lead-calcium WB with G1.
