This photoluminescent exit sign is a reliable, energy-free egress solution for indoor installations. The glow-in-the-dark legend is legible from up to 50 feet , and the unit is UL 924 listed and meets NFPA 101 requirements. What conditions must be met for this economy 50-ft rating to apply?
The sign face must receive at least 5 foot-candles (54 lux) of continuous illumination during occupancy with a clear line of sight. Insufficient charging light, tinted glazing, or partial obstructions can reduce legibility below 50 ft.
Does mounting method affect the 50-ft performance on this model?
The 50-ft classification is independent of mounting method, but visibility depends on line-of-sight and contrast. Typical placements are over doors or along egress paths; avoid installs where the legend is angled away or partially blocked.
How do I maintain the 50-ft rating if I order the double-face option?
Ensure each face receives = 5 fc during occupancy. For flag/window mounts, confirm both sides are illuminated; an unlit face may not achieve 50-ft legibility.
