Frequently Asked Questions

What lamps are compatible?

Wide support for T5 / T5HO, T8, T12, 4-pin CFL (e.g., 2G11, GR10q-4), circular T5/T9, and U-bend fluorescent lamps. Verify wattage on the spec sheet.

What’s the output in 2-lamp operation?

Total emergency lumens are shared between both lamps (e.g., roughly half to each, depending on lamp type and wiring).

Is it suitable for damp or sealed fixtures?

Yes. It is damp-location rated and listed for use in sealed/gasketed fluorescent fixtures when installed per instructions.

What does the time delay do?

It ensures proper transfer with AC ballasts that have end-of-lamp-life (EOL) shutoff, preventing nuisance dropout.

Can I use it in a switched fixture?

Yes—wire an unswitched (always-on) feed to the emergency ballast for charging and automatic transfer. The switched feed can continue to control normal lighting.
