The HZEL is explosion proof, there is no possible way the HZEL can ignite any type of explosion as it is completely self-contained. The HZEL Class 1 Division 1 Emergency Light provides 90 minutes of emergency illumination after AC power to the facility or building is lost.

Line sensitive electronics cause an instantaneous transfer to battery power if utility power is lost, or a brownout condition is detected. When line voltage is present and stabilized, the transfer circuitry switches back to normal operation and begins recharging the battery.
