The Explosion Proof Emergency Light is rated for Class 1 Division 1 and Class 1 Division 2 environments. Such atmospheres feature flammable gases, vapors, and dust. To prevent the ignition of such materials, explosionproof emergency lights and are designed with a hermetically sealed enclosure that is made from copper-free cast aluminum.
The explosionproof emergency light features one or two lamps that are available in a variety of wattage. The standard wattage is a 25-watt High Intensity Tungsten (HIT) lamp. 9 and 18-watt HIT lamps are available as well. The standard battery for the EXC Explosionproof Class 1 Division 1 and 2 Emergency Light is a 6-volt 36-watt capacity. 50-watt capacity comes standard on the double lamp version.
This explosionproof emergency light is designed for the most hazardous environments. Hazardous location emergency lights are designed for applications where ignitable vapors and gases may be present under normal and abnormal operations.
This Class 1 Division 1 & 2 Explosion Proof Emergency Light is manufactured from corrosion-resistant, copper-free cast aluminum. The housing features a weatherproof gasket spinoff cover, UL Listed stainless steel went/drain and a silicon conformal coating on the circuit board, which protects the electronics from humidity. The housing is finished with an epoxy coat for added corrosion protection in extreme environments.
Utilizes 120/277v AC electricity to operate and charge the battery. Comes standard with solid state charging circuitry, low voltage disconnect, AC lockout, and brownout protection. Available in custom voltages upon request.
The EXC Series Explosionproof Emergency Light comes with a 6-volt 25-watt HIT (High Intensity Tungsten) lamp that is powered by the 6-volt 50-watt battery back (which also powers the EXIT fixture). The lamp features a fully directional UL Listed copper-free cast aluminum housing that is swivel-mounted. The Pyrex lens is extremely durable and is available with an optional guard or reflectors.
12-watt and 18-watt HIT lamps are available instead of the 25-watt model. Lowering the wattage of the lamp will extend the emergency run time past 90-minutes.
The EXC Series Explosionproof Emergency Light comes with a 6-volt 50-watt Nickel Cadmium battery that has a lifespan of 5-7 years. The battery is maintenance-free.

Time-Delay - This option is ideal for installations that are utilizing fluorescent and HID lamps for general lighting purposes. The time delay feature keeps the emergency lights ililluminated for a preset period (usually 15 minutes) after power is restored since fluorescent and HID lighting can take 10-15 minutes to reach full brightness, even after a short power failure.
